Basics¶
Concept — The operating concepts that apply throughout Herzog CAB
This chapter explains the operating concepts that you encounter again in all areas of Herzog CAB — from the structure of the main window and the navigation to the common structure of all calculation pages. The reference pages of the individual modules link to these basics instead of repeating them.
If you are using Herzog CAB for the first time, it is best to read Interface overview and Navigating the app first.
-
Interface overview
Structure of the main window: menu bar, navigation, main area, history sidebar and profile bar.
-
Navigating the app
The navigation tree on the left: all entries, groups, the collapsed icon bar and what you see depending on your permissions.
-
Home page (Home)
Your personal dashboard: greeting, order tiles, upcoming productions, favorites and recent activity.
-
Favorites
Pin frequently used pages with a right-click — at the very top of the navigation and on the home page.
-
Calculation history
The history sidebar on the right edge: reopen earlier calculations with one click, including all input values.
-
Search and Filter
The recurring search, filter and sort patterns in lists — orders, Machine Fleet, master data.
-
How calculation pages are structured
The common building blocks of all calculations: input card, result tiles, Calculate/Delete, required-field check, unit switch.
-
Guided Tours
The built-in, interactive walkthroughs of the most important functional areas — ideal for training.
-
Multiple users in the same workspace folder
Edit lock with a lock symbol, saving individually and with a version — and what you see when a colleague is editing the same entry.
-
Trial version and quotas
What the trial version can do, which quantities are limited and how you get to the full version.
-
Desktop app or web app?
The two forms of Herzog CAB, their strengths and how they work together via the customer account.
